PHOTO CATEGORIES – replies requested please

To give our photographers plenty of time to take photos for this year’s competition, we would like to have your feedback on the categories you would prefer. These are the categories, we have had in the past and we have added an extra one that Marc wanted to include last year but we felt we hadn’t given you enough time. Will all the photographers please reply and let us know which FOUR they would prefer:

Flora & Fauna

Close Up

Macro (extremely close up photography)

Environmental Issues (where man has affected our world)

Bill has just given me more info re the Leopard Trail. It is only a 4 night, 3 day hike but, if you stay on an extra night (18th), you can then hike to the Cedar Falls on the 19th which is apparently very worthwhile. You then depart after that.

The total cost, including the extra night, is R1550 for members and R1580 for non members. If you decide not to do the Falls hike, then the cost decreases by R170.

Payment: Unfortunately, they require full payment when we confirm at the end of January. The Club are prepared to help members by requesting a 50% deposit when booking with the balance being paid within 30 days.

Please let Bill know ASAP if you are interested at 082 576 81978 or zachiusm@tdw.co.za

14 – 17th June 2020

Bill has now booked for this slack-pack hike and already has a number of people interested. He has intitially booked for 8 but this can be increased to 12 people. We have to confirm by the end of January so please contact Bill ASAP if you are interested.

You will need to take your own tent but these will be transported for you every day so you only have to carry a day pack. There are kitchen facilities available.

As it is far to travel, it is recommended that participants leave on either Friday 12th or Saturday 13th to drive down. The hike starts on Monday morning 15th June. It is said to be the best time weatherwise to do this hike but be warned that it can get cold overnight so you need to be prepared.
