The trails meander through the wonderfully serene setting of the Schurweberg Mountains within the Hennops Valley area. You hike through woodlands, rocky slopes and grassy hillsides. There are 4 trails of varying length to choose from. There are also caves to explore – remember to bring a headlamp or a strong torch. Cell phone lights are not strong enough.
We will braai afterwards. They are supplying the braai, charcoal and firelighters etc that is why the cost for this hike is a bit more than usual.
DO NOT use the R511 entrance. The road is closed due to severe flood damage to the low water bridge. You must come in from Erasmia (Centurion), turn into Grey Street which then becomes Van Melle Street, which then becomes Schurveberg Road. There is then 7 kms of gravel road until you get to their gate. Gate is kept locked until the 1st hiker arrives. Give them a call and they will come and open it: 071 310 8678
According to Google maps, it looks like you need to take the N14 and then go left on to the R55.
